General information about achievements in Days Gone

  1. There are 46 achievements available in Days Gone – 1 platinum, 2 gold, 15 silver and 28 bronze ones.
  2. Achievements can be earned by playing at any level of difficulty. It is not necessary to choose the lowest difficulty settings to help yourself in quick completion of the game. Most of the time, Days Gone is not a very demanding production and most missions are easy to handle at the normal difficulty level.
  3. The game world in Days Gone has a few dozen hordes of Freakers, but to get the platinum achievement, you need to defeat only one Horde. On a separate page of our achievement guide, we identified a small Horde, the elimination of which shouldn’t be too troublesome.
  4. Unlocking all achievements should take about 30 hours. You can make it much easier to get the platinum achievement if, from the very beginning of the game, you remember to pick up and explore all interactive items on your way. The game makes it easy to find them by activating the survival vision (“scanning” the area).
  5. The two most time-consuming achievements are You’ve Got Red on You and Lend Me Your Ears. Try to constantly loot the bodies of dead enemies and collect the ears from the corpses of defeated Freakers.
  6. You don’t have to complete the game in 100% to get the platinum achievement. This is best seen when gathering collectibles because Deacon has to find “only” 75% of them. The game does not force, for example, taking care of all missions but only individual storylines.

Days Gone

Trophy type: gold

Requirements: Complete the storyline of Days Gone.

Commentary: In Days Gone, only the main missions contribute towards progress. There are also side missions that can be unlocked during exploration or by meeting camp leaders, but they are optional.

Ambush Camp Hunter

Trophy type: silver

Requirements: Complete the “Ambush Camp Hunter” storyline by recapturing all Ambush Camps. These can be found through exploration and the game will inform you of the number of active camps in each region when you move your cursor over it. To complete a camp, eliminate all enemies (preferably with stealth), find the entrance to the bunker, explore it, and find the map.

Infestation Exterminator

Trophy type: silver

Requirements: Complete the “Infestation Exterminator” storyline by destroying all Infestations. These can be found through exploration and the game will inform you of the number of active Infestations in each region when you move your cursor over it. To destroy an Infestation, find the nests and use Molotov cocktails to burn them down. During the day, the monsters will stay in the nest, but at night they will roam the area.

The mutated bird nests in the southern part of the map require multiple Molotov cocktails to burn down, as there may be more than one nest on a tree or pole.

Marauder Camp Hunter

Trophy type: silver

Requirements: Complete the “Marauder Camp Hunter” storyline by liberating all Marauder Camps. These can only be captured during missions given by allied camp leaders, and it’s recommended to approach stealthily to avoid reinforcements.

World’s End

Trophy type: silver

Requirements: Complete the “World’s End” storyline by visiting all NERO Checkpoints. These locations can be found by examining maps in Ambush Camp bunkers or through exploration. At each checkpoint, fill the generator with fuel and find any required fuses. Don’t forget to visit every building to get an Injector. Note that NERO Research Sites are optional and not required for this trophy.

One Down

Trophy type: silver

Requirements: Defeat your first Horde.

Farewell Drift

Trophy type: bronze

Requirements: Spend a total of 10 minutes drifting on your motorcycle.

Tip: To drift, press the Circle button on even and wide surfaces. While drifting, Deacon won’t hit any obstacles on the way.

This is a Knife

Trophy type: silver

How to unlock: Kill a Breaker, Reacher or Rager using a knife.

Commentary: For more information about this trophy, refer to a separate page.

Ghost of Farewell

Trophy type: bronze

Requirements: Perform 100 stealth kills.

Commentary: To achieve this trophy, look for opportunities to perform stealth kills on humans or Freakers. Sneak up from behind and press Triangle to execute a stealth kill.

Old Reliable

Trophy type: bronze

Requirements: Kill 200 enemies with a crafted weapon.

Commentary: To get this trophy, use a crafted melee weapon to kill humans and Freakers. Craft recipes can be obtained by completing missions in Ambush Camps and the story. Crafting materials are also required along with the base weapon for crafting.

To craft a weapon, open the Survival Wheel and select the desired weapon. Use the skill that increases melee damage and unlocks the option to repair crafted weapons for faster progress. Refer to the Crafting chapter for more information.

Variety is the Spice of Life

Trophy type: silver

Requirements: Kill an enemy with each type of available crossbow bolt.

Commentary: There are five types of crossbow bolts, some are unlocked during the main storyline, while others require the right craft recipe found in bunkers at Ambush Camps. Follow our guide for more information on how to unlock this trophy.

Farewell Original

Trophy type: silver

Requirements: Purchase an upgrade for your motorcycle from the Performance, Visual, and Paint categories.

Commentary: To unlock this trophy, purchase one upgrade per category from Manny, the mechanic, at Copeland’s Camp. Upgrades may require reaching Trust 1 in Copeland’s Camp, which can be achieved by completing missions and bringing supplies and Freaker ears.

For more information on the reputation system in Days Gone, refer to the Camps chapter.

First Time Buyer

Trophy type: bronze

Requirements: Upgrade your bike for the first time.

Commentary: To unlock this trophy, purchase any upgrade from Manny at Copeland’s Camp after reaching Trust 1. See the picture above for an example of an upgrade.

Burnout Apocalypse

Type of achievement: bronze

Requirements: While riding your motorcycle, use both nitro and drift at the same time for at least 5 seconds.

Commentary: You can obtain this achievement after reaching the final part of the campaign. You need to own the Nitrous III upgrade, the only upgrade that allows you to use nitrous boost for at least 5 seconds. You can purchase it from Lucas Monroe in Diamond Lake camp (Crater Lake region). However, you need to reach Trust 3 level in that camp before getting the upgrade.

Once you buy and install Nitrous III, go to a large open space, start drifting to the left or right, and then press and hold the X button to activate the nitrous boost. Keep doing that until you get the achievement.

If you have any difficulty controlling the motorcycle during the five-second drift with nitro enabled, go to any mechanic and install the basic engine. This will allow you to intentionally reduce the performance of the machine and drift in a smaller area.

The Art of Bike Repair

Type of achievement: bronze

Requirements: Use up 100 scrap while repairing your bike.

Commentary: You should obtain this achievement at some point during your gameplay. When Deacon’s bike gets damaged, repair it with scrap – approach the bike and hold the Circle button. You can get scrap from destroyed vehicles or find it lying on the ground. More information about repairing your bike on How to repair the bike? page.

You’ve Got Red on You

Type of achievement: bronze

Requirements: Loot 541 items from corpses.

Commentary: This might be one of the last few achievements you unlock. Looting 541 corpses takes a lot of time, especially since there are two important restrictions:

  1. The game doesn’t count instances when you loot a Freaker’s corpse and get their ear. These items have a separate achievement called Lend Me Your Ears.
  2. You can’t always pick up items that belonged to your dead enemy. This can happen when Deacon is carrying the maximum quantity of a given item. Try to use up your supplies regularly to avoid this problem. You can also unlock Carry That Weight skill to increase your inventory space.

Lend Me Your Ears

Type of achievement: bronze

Requirements: Collect 989 Freaker Ears.

Commentary: A time-consuming achievement, but it won’t take as much time as you would think. You collect Freakers’ ears by walking over their corpses – you don’t have to stop and press/hold the interaction button.

Try to always pick up Freakers’ ears after you kill them – ears that weren’t picked up by Deacon are marked on the mini-map with an X icon (the same one used for other types of loot). Hordes are a great source of ears – you can either defeat all Freakers that are part of it or kill some of them.

Finders Keepers

Type of achievement: bronze

Requirements: Acquire your first collectible.

Commentary: You don’t have to search for the first collectible – you will receive it automatically during the prologue.

The Wannabe Fortune Hunter trophy requires the player to collect 50% of all collectables and is a bronze trophy. To learn more about this trophy, check out the description for The Broken Roadshow trophy.

The Broken Roadshow trophy is a silver trophy that requires the player to collect 75% of all collectables (180 out of 240). The collectables can be found in the Storylines menu and include various categories like historical markers, herbs, and audio recordings. The Collectibles and optional locations chapter provides more information on how to collect them. The player can use Survivor Mode to scan their surroundings for interactive objects and explore every camp and optional location.

The Surviving Isn’t Living trophy is a bronze trophy that requires the player to rescue 10 survivors. Survivors are random events that the player will encounter during their playthrough and can be found in bandit camps or locked cars. Once rescued, the player can direct them to one of the camps they have already visited.

The Better Living Through Chemistry trophy is a bronze trophy that requires the player to upgrade either their Health, Stamina, or Focus for the first time. To learn more about this trophy, check out the description for the Performance Enhanced trophy.

The Performance Enhanced trophy is a silver trophy that requires the player to achieve the maximum level of either Health, Stamina, or Focus. More information can be found on a separate page.

The Best Friends Forever trophy is a silver trophy that requires the player to achieve the Allied trust status with three different Encampments. Iron Mike’s camp is the easiest to max out the trust level as it is connected with two regions.

The Best Friends Forever (For Life) trophy is a gold trophy that requires the player to gain the Allied trust status with three different Encampments. This trophy is time-consuming, and the player can increase their Trust level by getting Trust points. The player needs 5,000 Trust points to reach Trust 1 level, 12,500 to reach Trust 2 level, and 25,000 to reach Trust 3 level, which unlocks the Allied status. The best ways to get Trust points are discussed in the chapter.

To progress in Days Gone, players must complete missions related to specific encampments, eliminate Hordes, help residents defend against Freakers and bandits, and deliver items like Freaker ears, herbs, and animal meat. It’s recommended to focus on encampments with high Trust levels. The Make It Rain trophy requires spending 20,000 credits in a single encampment, which can be earned by completing missions or selling items like Freak ears. The Welcome to the Party, Pal trophy requires clearing out all Ambush Camps, Infestations, and NERO Checkpoints in a single region. The Kitchen Courier trophy is easily earned by selling animal meat or plants in any encampment. The Don’t Stop Me Now, I’m Out of Control, and There’s No Stopping Me trophies require unlocking 1, 15, and 30 skills respectively.

The Mr. Fahrenheit Trophy

This is a silver trophy that requires you to unlock 45 skills. During the game, you can unlock up to 45 skills, which means that you have to get them all to obtain this trophy. To learn more about obtaining new skills, check out the Unlock Skills page in the Character Development chapter of our guide. Here are the most important things to know about unlocking skills:

  1. Each advancement to a higher level of experience earns you skill points.
  2. Main and side missions provide XP for subsequent level ups, which is the fastest way to gain a lot of experience.
  3. There are three main categories of skills – melee, ranged, and survival.
  4. Each category has a skill tree. You must unlock enough low-level skills to have access to high-level abilities.
  5. Even after completing the main plot and all the side missions, there is a good chance that you will have enough skill points to get all abilities. Killing Freaks in the endgame is also a great way to earn XP.

The Go Kick Rocks Trophy

This is a bronze trophy that requires you to destroy 12 Anarchist Cairns. You may come across Anarchist Cairns during your exploration of the game world. To find them, use your survival vision. Interact with each Cairn to knock it down. The game doesn’t count them as main collectibles. For more information on unlocking this trophy, check out the dedicated page in our guide.

The D.I.Y. Oregonian Trophy

This is a bronze trophy that requires you to craft 50 items. To create new items, use the wheel of survival. Keep in mind that Deacon must have the required crafting materials and free inventory space for a new item. The trophy counts all kinds of items being created, including melee weapons, throwing items, traps, medicines, and attractors. For more information on crafting, check out the Crafting section of our guide.
