Important Information about Skyrim’s Trophies

  1. The game’s main set of achievements is made up of 51 trophies, including 1 platinum trophy (only available on PS3 and PS4), 1 gold, 14 silver, and 35 bronze.
  2. All versions of the game have the same achievements, including the Special Edition on PS4 and XONE, as well as Skyrim VR developed for PlayStation VR goggles.
  3. Unlocking all trophies may take more than 100 hours. To obtain the platinum trophy, most quests in the game must be completed. Other time-consuming achievements require the collection of 100,000 gold coins and reaching character level 50.
  4. The game must be completed once, but some trophies may be difficult to find and can be missed. Be especially careful with Daedric quests, where a new Daedric artifact must be obtained in each quest. If a wrong decision is made and one is lost or missed, it is recommended to load an earlier saved game.
  5. Any difficulty level can be played, but playing on easy mode will make it much easier, especially for large-scale battles or fights with dragons.
  6. Trophies from Hearthfire, Dawnguard, and Dragonborn are not necessary for the platinum trophy. They can be ignored, and focus can be solely on unlocking trophies from the main set (51 trophies).

Both quests are fully described in our guide. Completing one of them will unlock the Hero of Skyrim trophy.

Commentary: Here is another trophy related to the civil war storyline. Once again, you have complete freedom to choose which side to team up with.

If you side with the Stormcloaks, you must complete their final quest – Battle for Windhelm.

If you side with the Legion, you must complete their final quest – Battle for Solitude.

You can unlock them the same way you would many full-fledged quests, by interacting with independent characters such as random NPCs, important story characters, Guild members, etc. They have simple objectives (for example, delivering a package, killing a specified monster), so they should not be difficult to deal with. Finish 50 small tasks.

Hard Worker

Trophy type: bronze

How to unlock: Chop wood, mine ore, and cook food.

Commentary: All the actions in this trophy related to crafting. Each type of activity has been explained in detail in our World Atlas on the other types of crafting page.

  1. You can chop wood by visiting one of the sawmills.

  3. Food can be prepared in any kitchen.

Complete one action from each group. You do not need to craft any unique items.

Thief

Trophy type: silver

How to unlock: Unlock 50 locks and pickpocket 50 people.

Commentary: Lockpicking and pickpocketing are skills that your character can develop. We have provided a detailed description of them in the Skills chapter of our World Atlas. There you can learn how to open locks, pick pockets, how to improve your skills, and what you can gain from it. Invest in attributes that make it easier to open locks and steal for each skill.

To unlock the trophy, look for easy locks and easy NPCs to rob (e.g., sleeping characters).

Snake Tongue

Trophy type: bronze

How to unlock: Successfully use persuasion, bribery, and intimidation.

Commentary: This trophy is for the unique dialogue options that may arise during encounters with NPCs. They all relate to the Speech skill, which you can gradually develop. The skill is thoroughly described in the Skills section of our guide. You will learn how to improve persuasion, bribery, and intimidation, as well as their consequences.

Only one successful attempt from each of these three groups is needed to obtain the trophy. You do not need to develop Speech very much to persuade difficult interlocutors.

Blessed

Trophy type: bronze

How to unlock: Select a power from one of the 13 Standing Stones.

Comment: In Skyrim, there are secret locations known as The Standing Stones. They provide players with bonuses to stats, such as health and stamina regeneration. To earn this trophy, you must find one of these stones and activate its power. The full list of stones can be found in the Locations list section of our World Atlas.

Standing Stones

Trophy type: silver

How to unlock: Discover all 13 Standing Stones.

Comment: This trophy is an extension of the previous one. In this case, you need to find and activate all 13 Standing Stones. You only need to discover the location of each stone to earn the trophy.

Citizen

Trophy type: bronze

How to unlock: Purchase a house.

Comment: As the main character, you have the option to buy a house in several locations throughout the game world. The cheapest house is located in Whiterun and becomes available after completing the Dragon Rising main quest. To purchase a house, speak with the Chamberlain after receiving thanks from Jarl Balgruuf. It will cost several thousand coins, but you can save the game before purchase and load the previous state after unlocking the trophy.

Wanted

Trophy type: bronze

How to unlock: Escape from prison.

Comment: If you are caught committing a crime, such as theft or murder, you may be sent to prison. To earn this trophy, you must escape from prison. This is not an easy task and requires picking the lock on your cell door, finding a chest with confiscated items, and sneaking out through one of the exits. Note that you cannot escape from the prison in Markarth (mine). It is recommended to attempt this trophy later in the game when you have developed your lockpicking and stealth skills. For more information on committing crimes and going to prison, see the Hints section of our guide.

Married

Trophy type: bronze

How to unlock: Get married.

Comment: While not particularly difficult, getting married in Skyrim does require some preparation.

How to Get Married in Skyrim

To get married in Skyrim and unlock the Artisan trophy, you need to follow these steps:

  1. Visit the Temple of Mara in Riften and find Maramal. If he’s not in the temple, look for him around the city.
  2. Talk to Maramal about marriage.
  3. Get an Amulet of Mara, either by purchasing it from Maramal or completing The Book of Love quest.
  4. Wear the Amulet of Mara.
  5. During conversations with NPCs, marriage proposal options will appear. It only takes one person to agree to unlock the trophy.
  6. Once someone agrees, return to Maramal and participate in the wedding ceremony.

How to Unlock the Artisan Trophy

The Artisan trophy in Skyrim is associated with crafting and alchemy. Here’s how to unlock it:

  1. Forge any item using a blacksmith’s forge. Check the Smithing page in the World Atlas for more information.
  2. Enchant any item using an arcane enchanter. Check the Enchanting page in the World Atlas for more information.
  3. Create any potion using the alchemical table. Check the Alchemy page in the World Atlas for more information.

You only need to create one item for each of these skills. It can be a simple item, so you don’t need to level up your character’s skills too much.

How to Unlock the Master Criminal Trophy

The Master Criminal trophy requires a bounty of 1,000 gold on your head in all nine of Skyrim’s holds. Here are the holds you need to have a bounty in:

  1. Whiterun
  2. The Pale
  3. Falkreath Hold
  4. Haafingar
  5. Hjaalmarch
  6. Rift
  7. The Reach
  8. Eastmarch
  9. Winterhold

To get this trophy, commit a crime and get noticed by the authorities in each hold to increase your bounty. Killing a hold guard is the fastest way to do this. Once you have a bounty of at least 1,000 gold, move on to another hold and repeat. Read more about committing crimes in the game to avoid getting caught.

How to Unlock the Golden Touch Trophy

The Golden Touch trophy requires you to accumulate 100,000 gold coins. This is one of the most difficult achievements in the game. Here are some tips to help you:

Start early and keep track of your gold. Skyrim doesn’t give you a lot of gold, so you need to be mindful of this trophy from the beginning.

Complete quests and sell valuable items to merchants to earn more gold. Consider investing in speech and mercantile skills to get better deals.

Save your game often in case you accidentally lose gold or make a mistake. It’s better to be safe than sorry.

It may take a while, but with persistence and careful planning, you can unlock this trophy.

  1. Attempt to avoid purchasing from traders or spending gold on anything unnecessary. Try to rely on items found in the game or obtained through completing quests.

  2. Accept as many quests as possible as many of them offer rewards of gold.

  3. Thoroughly search all discovered locations and look for gold in containers and out in the open.

  4. Take as much loot as possible to sell to traders.

  5. Develop the skills of lockpicking, stealth, and pickpocketing to more effectively rob inhabitants of the realm. Valuable items can be found in places that the hero cannot “lawfully” plunder.

Delver

Trophy type: silver

How to unlock: Clear 50 dungeons.

Comment: To clear a dungeon, you must kill all enemies/monsters and collect all the loot. The game does not indicate that you have collected 100% of the loot, so search each place and check all interactive containers. Use the World Atlas to search for subsequent dungeons; these can be small locations with few opponents and chests to loot.

Skill Master

Trophy type: silver

How to unlock: Train any skill to level 100.

Comment: You should be able to unlock this trophy while attempting to unlock the platinum trophy. If not, try to level up skills faster by repeating actions associated with it, such as casting spells. Skill books and trainers can also help you level up skills to 100. Find these in our World Atlas Listings section.

Explorer

Trophy type: silver

How to unlock: Discover 100 locations.

Comment: Finding 100 locations may seem like a big challenge, but it is not that hard to achieve. Travel around the world map to find many new places, including large cities, villages, ruins, stone circles, camps, and dungeons. The World Atlas shows all possible places to discover, but there are even more locations in-game.

Reader

Trophy type: bronze

How to unlock: Read 50 skill books.

Comment: Collect and read 50 unique books to increase the associated skill. You can only read each book once. Find a list of skill books in the Skill books chapter of our World Atlas. Visit the places indicated and look for suitable books.

Daedric Influence

Trophy type: bronze

How to unlock: Obtain a Daedric artifact.

Comment: Complete Daedric quests, a separate category of side quests, to acquire Daedric artifacts. Find a detailed description of all Daedric missions in a separate chapter of our guide. Any Daedric quest can help you unlock this trophy.

It’s important to note that many Daedric quests have multiple ways to be completed, but some choices may prevent the hero from obtaining an artifact, so it’s best to avoid them. We recommend creating a manual saved game state at the start of each new quest and following our guide’s walkthrough carefully to learn about all the available options and their consequences.

Oblivion Walker

Trophy type: silver

How to unlock: Obtain all 15 Daedric artifacts.

Comment: This is a continuation of the previous achievement. To receive this trophy, you must complete all the Daedric quests and collect all the artifacts. If you lose an artifact during a quest, load the game and try a different approach.

Dragon Soul

Trophy type: bronze

How to unlock: Absorb a dragon soul.

Comment: To absorb a dragon soul, you need to defeat a dragon and remain in the area until the absorption happens automatically. This trophy can be earned during the quest Dragon Rising, which requires the player to defeat a dragon that threatens Whiterun. Our guide has a complete walkthrough of the quest.

Dragon Hunter

Trophy type: bronze

How to unlock: Absorb 20 dragon souls.

Comment: This is an extension of the previous trophy. It’s recommended to focus on completing the main and major side quests before hunting dragons. Some quests involve dragon fights, and the remaining dragons can be found during free exploration of the game world. Engage the dragon in combat to absorb its soul.

Words of Power

Trophy type: bronze

How to unlock: Learn all three Words of any Dragon shout.

Comment: Each Dragon shout has three Words of Power, and to unlock this trophy, the player must learn all three words of a single shout. Large tablets scattered throughout the game contain new Words of Power. Our guide’s Dragon shouts page has a detailed description of their locations and how to unlock them.

Thu’um Master

Trophy type: silver

How to unlock: Learn 20 Dragon shouts.

Comment: This is a continuation of the previous trophy. The player must learn 20 Dragon shouts, but they don’t need to learn all three Words of Power for each shout. Our guide’s Dragon shouts chapter lists all the available options and where to learn them.

Apprentice

Trophy type: bronze

How to unlock: Reach level 5.

Comment: Refer to the Thu’um Master trophy description.

Adept

Trophy type: bronze

How to unlock: Reach level 10.

Comment: Refer to the Thu’um Master trophy description.

Expert

Trophy type: bronze

How to unlock: Reach level 25.

Comment: Refer to the Thu’um Master trophy description.

Master

Trophy type: silver

How to unlock: Reach level 50.

Comment: The protagonist can level up by improving their skills. However, it takes a lot of time to reach level 50. To make the process easier, you can:

  1. Develop all skills instead of focusing on just a few. It’s faster to level up lower-level skills than higher-level ones.

  2. Repeat skill-building actions, even when not required. For example, jump, swing a sword, or cast spells frequently.

  3. Find skill books and trainers to level up faster.

You can find more tips and information about character development in the Character Development section of our guide.
