Destruction | Skills

This page of the TES V: Skyrim World Atlas is dedicated to Destruction skills, which belong to the magician archetype. These skills are related to different areas of magic. Our guide not only describes these skills, but also explains how to develop them and which related features are worth unlocking.

To increase the Destruction skill, cast spells from the destruction school of magic to harm other beings. The skill will only increase if a destruction spell has injured or killed its target.

The main purpose of developing this skill is to lower the mana costs of casting destruction spells.

There are 17 available perks for this skill, with the best ones being Novice Destruction, Destruction Dual Casting, and Disintegrate.

Comments:

  1. Similar to other schools of magic, casting even basic spells from the Destruction school can quickly drain your mana bar. Moreover, some advanced spells may be blocked at the beginning of the game due to the mana points required. Therefore, it’s necessary to constantly work on increasing the mana pool and improving mana regeneration rate.
  2. The Destruction school consists mostly of offensive spells, which can be divided into three main categories: fire, frost, and shock. Each category has a bonus effect, such as setting enemies on fire, slowing them down, or draining their mana. There are also a few runic spells in each category that work as traps.
  3. It’s not recommended to rely on spells from only one category since some enemies may be immune to certain types of elemental damage. Dual casting is a great idea if you’ve unlocked perks that increase its usefulness.

EXPERT DESTRUCTION

Description: The possibility to stagger an enemy when dual casting destruction spells.

Opinions: This is an intriguing perk that can be useful when battling tougher enemies. Staggering them provides ample time to restore mana or move to a safer place without worrying about being attacked.
