Description and Comments

Clairvoyance

Novice

Highlights the path to the current destination of an active quest. This spell is not necessary to use during the game as the quests are already well-defined in other chapters of this guide. Furthermore, the game does not feature any intricate quests that require the main character to spend a lot of time searching for things or people.

Courage

Novice

Forces the targeted creature to remain on the battlefield and increases its health and stamina pools. This spell should be cast on your ally for obvious reasons.

Fury

Novice

Forces creatures and people on level 6 or lower to attack everyone around them. This spell works on only one targeted creature or person.

Vision of the Tenth Eye

Novice

Allows you to see the invisible objects. This spell is not useful during normal gameplay and is only required to complete the Ritual Illusion Spell quest at the College of Winterhold.

Calm

Apprentice

Forces creatures and people on level 9 or lower to stop fighting. This spell works on only one targeted creature or person.

Fear

Apprentice

Forces creatures and people on level 9 or lower to flee. This spell works on only one targeted creature or person.

Muffle

Apprentice

Enables you to move silently for 3 minutes. This spell is excellent for a thief or an assassin and should be used alongside Invisibility. It is also a good spell to increase the Illusion skill quickly, as it does not consume many mana points and is always counted towards the progress (you won’t have to fulfill additional requirements).

Frenzy

Adept

Forces creatures and people on level 14 or lower to attack everyone around them. This spell works on only one targeted creature or person.

Rally

Adept

Forces the targeted creatures to remain on the battlefield and increases their health and stamina pools. This spell should be cast on your allies for obvious reasons.

Invisibility

Expert

Enables you to become invisible for a period of time.

A spell that converts the caster’s health into magicka. This can be useful for mages who run out of magicka during battles, but it can also be dangerous as it drains the caster’s health. It is recommended to use this spell wisely and with caution.

Transmute

Apprentice

Transmute is a spell that allows the caster to turn iron ore into silver ore, and silver ore into gold ore. This spell can be useful for those who want to make money by selling valuable materials, or for those who want to use these materials for crafting armor and weapons.

Telekinesis

Adept

A spell that allows the caster to move objects from a distance. This spell can be used to grab items that are out of reach, to move obstacles out of the way, or to attack enemies from a distance by throwing objects at them. It is a versatile spell that can be useful in many situations.

Paralyze

Expert

A spell that paralyzes the target for a short period of time. This can be useful for escaping from dangerous situations or for setting up sneak attacks. It is important to note that some enemies may be immune to paralysis, and that the spell has a short range.

Dragonhide

Master

Dragonhide is a powerful spell that provides the caster with near-invulnerability for a short period of time. It is one of the most powerful defensive spells in the game, but it requires a lot of magicka to cast. It is recommended to use this spell only in the most dire situations.

Transforming 25 health points into 25 mana points per second can be done with the spell obtained from a tome found in Labyrinthian Chasm (5; 06). It is advised to obtain this spell while completing The Staff of Magnus College of Winterhold quest, but be cautious not to convert too many health points at once as it may lead to death.

Oakflesh

As a novice, you can increase your armor rating by 40 points for 60 seconds with the Oakflesh spell.

Magelight

Creating a stationary ball of light with the Apprentice-level Magelight spell may not be useful as it is better to use Candlelight to create a light source that follows you wherever you go.

Stoneflesh

Another Apprentice-level spell, Stoneflesh, can increase armor rating by 60 points for 60 seconds.

Detect Life

Adept-level Detect Life spell can help you detect living beings through walls, but it is important to use Detect Undead to locate draugrs and skeletons.

Ironflesh

As an Adept, you can increase armor rating by 80 points for 60 seconds with the Ironflesh spell.

Telekinesis

While the Adept-level Telekinesis spell may not be useful for most, it can be used by thieves to interact with objects from a distance while remaining hidden.

Transmutation

Obtaining a rare spell tome is the only way to unlock the Adept-level Transmutation spell, which can transmute unrefined iron ore into silver ore and silver ore into gold ore. The tome can be found at Halted Stream Camp (5; 14) or sometimes sold by Enthir in College of Winterhold.

Waterbreathing

В

The Adept-level Waterbreathing spell allows you to breathe underwater for 60 seconds, but it may not be necessary as Argonians can breathe underwater indefinitely.

Detect Undead

Expert-level Detect Undead spell can help you detect undead through walls, but it may not be useful as it is better to eliminate them instead of just knowing their presence.

Ebonyflesh

As an Expert, you can increase armor rating by 100 points for 60 seconds with the Ebonyflesh spell.

Paralyze

Expert-level Paralyze spell can temporarily paralyze enemies, making it useful for disabling stronger monsters.

This spell will paralyze enemies in the affected area for 10 seconds, but it will only work if they fail to resist it.

Dragonhide

Master

With this spell, you can ignore 80% of the physical damage you receive. To unlock it, you must complete the Ritual Alteration Spell quest at the College of Winterhold and receive it as a reward from Tolfdir. It’s an incredibly useful spell, especially when fighting enemy warriors.

Mass Paralysis

В

Master

This spell will paralyze all enemies in the affected area for 15 seconds, but only if they fail to resist it. To unlock it, you must purchase a spell tome from Tolfdir after completing the Ritual Alteration Spell quest at the College of Winterhold.
