Tevinter Artifact Search

How to unlock: The quest will activate automatically when you approach the entrance to the Still Ruins.

Quest-giver: – (M19,5)

Confront the cultists near the ruins

The Tevinter Artifact Search quest will activate as soon as you approach the entrance to the Still Ruins. You can find the ruins in the central part of the Western Approach, to the west of the first camp. Once you’re there, you’ll encounter Venatori cultists wandering around. Take them out, starting with the Venatori Spellbinder.

Destroy the barrier and enter the ruins

After defeating the cultists, locate the ice barrier and instruct your mages to destroy it using fire spells. Proceed to the north and face another group of cultists. Head through the gate to enter the Still Ruins. Now you can start exploring the additional location (M22,1a).

Defeat more cultists

Take on the Venatori cultists, focusing on the Venatori Marksmen. Once you’ve defeated them, head north. Ignore everyone and examine the Rift in the main room. This will activate the “A Stranger Rift in the Ruins” quest (M22,2). Investigate the smaller rooms nearby (some may require a rogue to enter), as there are interesting items to be found.

Face Lucanus and his followers

As you move through the ruins, you’ll encounter more enemies in a large room in the northern part of the ruins (M22,3). Watch out for the powerful mage, Lucanus, who commands a small group of cultists. Take out the leader first, avoiding fire attacks as Lucanus is immune to them. Be wary of the mages and cultist marksmen. Once you’ve defeated all the Venatori, search Lucanus’ body and take the Keystone, which will activate another side quest.
