This quest becomes available after reaching The Western Approach for the first time and speaking with scout Harding (M19,1). She will inform you about the cult present in the Western Approach. Stay in the camp and search for the detailed report (Intercepted Venatori Message), which you need to examine. It contains information about the Servis and a mine that the cultists are interested in.


Find the cave entrance.

The cave mentioned earlier is located to the West of the starting point of the quest. You should have no trouble finding and entering it (M19,1e). However, be wary of the nearby Poison Spiders.


Examine the tome.

Enter the cave and begin exploring. You must reach the main cavern and defeat the Giant Spider. Once you have cleared the area, search for the Note from a Templar. Examine it to complete the quest.
