Building the Signal Interceptor (Teleporter) in The Molecular Level Mission

Once you have improved your relations with one of the three main factions, you will meet with its technology expert: Proctor Ingram for the Brotherhood of Steel, Tinker Tom for the Railroad faction, or Sturges for the Minutemen. The expert will provide you with information on how to build the first part of the teleport. Later in the quest, you will need to return to them for further instructions. The teleport can be built in the expert’s suggested location or in any unlocked settlements, such as Sanctuary. Follow the steps below to build the signal interceptor.

Building the Reflector Platform

Select the Special tab in the workshop window of your intended location and choose the Stabilized Reflector Platform. Common materials are required for building the platform, but if you lack any materials, press the button for a magnifier icon to appear whenever you find the material or an item that can be disassembled to provide it.

After building the platform, speak to your selected faction’s expert again. They will inform you that the next parts of the signal interceptor are the console, relay dish, and beam emitter. You may construct the objects in any order.

Building the Console

The Control Console requires one rare material, the Biometric Scanner, which can be found in medical facilities or frequently near destroyed security turrets. Ensure that you obtain the scanner from a higher level turret to receive rare items.

Building the Relay Dish

The Relay Dish requires common materials to construct and does not require the Sensor Module. However, you may find the module in the USAF Satellite Station Olivia in the northern part of the map.

Building the Beam Emitter

The Beam Emitter requires one rare item, the Military-Grade Circuit Board, which can be found in military facilities or near destroyed security turrets. Build the emitter precisely above the reflector platform after gathering all necessary materials.

Powering Up the Signal Interceptor

After constructing all the parts, the signal interceptor requires 27 units of energy to function. If you have the Science! Perk, you may build two large generators that require rare Nuclear Materials.

To create the signal interceptor, you can either have the required perk or create six medium generators. Place the generators near each other and the interceptor in a straight line. Connect all objects with cables starting from the generators and move towards the neighbor generator to finalize the connection. After connecting all generators, attach the cables to the console, dish, and beam emitter. Connect them in any combination as every part of the interceptor doesn’t need to be connected to a generator directly. Once all teleport parts are connected, position yourself on the platform of the interceptor and speak to the person who helped you build it. You will be teleported to the Institute headquarters and the quest will end.
