Getting to the Cozumel Ruins Entrance – In the Shadows

Here, you will learn how to locate the entrance to the Cozumel temple ruins in Shadow of the Tomb Raider as part of the In the Shadows mission. Along the way, Lara will have to face off against numerous enemies and undertake a challenging climbing section.

Lara will discover that she needs to find an alternate route to the excavation site. Head right and start climbing up the wall. Once you’re outside the town, you can use Lara’s weapons to take out the enemies.

Simply follow the path that leads to your destination. You’ll soon come across your first opponent. Use the finishing move to take him out silently. Another enemy will still be present. You’ll have to test your bow skills in this case. Aim for the mercenary’s head to eliminate him with a single shot.

After speaking with the rescued person, continue moving forward. Jump towards the wall and start climbing up to the top. You’ll see a cutscene before continuing along the cliff. Position yourself so that you can see a new climbing wall in the distance (refer to the picture). Jump from the inrun and press the interaction button when you reach the wall to latch on with your pickaxe.

Don’t move and simply click the rope lowering button (the pickaxe will still be lodged in the wall). Lower yourself down as far as possible to safely jump onto the lower shelf.

Proceed by jumping onto the interactive edge and moving sideways. Move closer to the new climbing wall, jump towards it, and grip the wall with your pickaxe. Once you’ve successfully jumped, use the rope to descend and let go of it when you get close to the new, lower shelf.

Next, jump to the climbing wall. Move sideways to reach the new edges. Once you’ve reached another climbing wall, start lowering yourself on the rope. Now, run on the rope left and right alternately. Wait until Lara is close to the right climbing wall (refer to the picture) before jumping towards it.

Move as far to the right as possible along the last climbing wall. Use the rope to get all the way down. Lara will be too far from the new shelf by default, but you can try a new move by swinging on the rope. Only jump once Lara puts her hand forward, signaling that the move will be successful. You can now enter the ruins.
