Unlocking the Venture
You can access Cutting Edge after upgrading your criminal empire to level 3. This can be done while completing the Body of Evidence story mission, which we’ve covered in our walkthrough.
The business costs $400,000 and can be placed in any part of the city.
General Venture Assumptions
- The Cutting Edge Venture is run by fashion designer Edith Hunt. Your goal is to find new materials for Edith’s creations by following her clues and taking photographs.
- Each photograph unlocks a new type of material, which can be used to customize your vehicles, weapons, clothes, and even your character’s skin. This allows you to drastically alter your character’s appearance and gear.
- The starting hourly income is $46,000. Completing all threats in the business district and taking all photos for Edith can increase your income to a permanent $138,000.
100% Completion Rewards
Each photograph earns you a new material and rewards you with 1500PD and $3000. Completing any 14 of Edith’s challenges grants you a one-time reward of $30,000 and 5,000 XP.
There are more than 14 materials to be found in the game world. You can stop searching after completing the venture or continue to gain new customization options, XP, and cash.

There are 11 clues to uncover secrets, each related to a specific material. Clue #1 in Lakeshore North involves photographing coins in a fountain’s lower reservoir. Clue #2 in Lakeshore North requires photographing a green object next to a large crab statue. Clue #3 in Marina West involves finding bushes with crystals near the lake. Clue #4 in Marina East requires examining balconies of one of the houses. Clue #5 in Old Town West involves photographing a huge cactus attached to a building. Clue #6 in Mercado involves finding a trailer with 3 doors and photographing the material in front of it. Clue #7 in Smelterville West requires photographing tracks in a wide culvert. Clue #8 in Smelterville East involves examining the side of 3 huge bottles to find lava. Clue #9 in Rojas Desert South involves photographing a wooden object in a workshop near a small water reservoir. Clue #10 in Rojas Desert North requires taking a picture of a wagon at the top of an overlook. Clue #11 in Lake Sebastian involves finding a secret related to Stone Material.
To discover the secrets in Boot Hill, you can reach the island by air or boat. Look for a suitable spot to access the shore. Once there, find the tunnel entrance shown in picture 1 and explore the dark cave to locate a stone object to photograph. Clue #12 is related to Kaleidoscope Material and can be found near a building under the blue Naughty Tarot sign. Clue #13 deals with Gold Material and can be found near the casino entrance next to the big casino tokens. Clue #14 relates to Brick Material and requires you to photograph a brick chimney on a building’s roof. Clue #15 deals with Carbon Fiber Material and requires you to enter the Buffalow Riders car repair shop to take a photo of an object on the floor. Clue #16 relates to Rock Material and requires you to visit a quarry and photograph a huge boulder in the lower area. Clue #17 deals with Infrared Material and requires you to go to a farm and photograph a bull skull attached to a long building. Clue #18 relates to Mirror Material and requires you to find the destroyed empty pool and photograph the glass shards. Clue #19 relates to Galaxy Material and requires you to wait until nighttime, use a helicopter to land on a skyscraper rooftop, and photograph the starry sky. Finally, Clue #20 relates to Meat Material and requires you to locate a specific spot in Badlands North.
To complete the next challenge, you need to make your way to the proving grounds near the prison. Once there, climb a tall building and capture a photo from the location shown in the image above.
