Forbidden Tomb and Summoning the White Queen in Croft Manor – Brave Adventurer

This guide offers a step-by-step walkthrough for the Brave Adventurer story mission, which involves exploring the Croft Manor and solving the White Queen puzzle in the Forbidden Tomb in Shadow of the Tomb Raider.

In this section, we will describe the next part of the Brave Adventurer mission, which takes place in the Forbidden Tomb – one of the larger halls in the Croft Manor. Lara must solve the puzzle of the White Queen in order to progress.

After Lara falls from the roof, she will land on one of the balconies. Enter the house and make your way to the door shown above. This will lead you to the big hall where the White Queen puzzle is located.

To solve the puzzle, you must reach the big room in the mansion (as seen above). The coordinates on Lara’s drawing will provide clues to help you solve the puzzle.

Note – while there are many cabinets and souvenirs from Lara’s previous journeys in the puzzle room, exploring them is optional and not necessary to solve the puzzle.

First, examine the globe in picture 1. It has two interactive dials. Manipulate them in any order, then input the coordinates 30N and 90E. You can see an example of the correct latitude (90E) in picture 2.

Once you have entered the correct coordinates, light rays will reflect off the globe and onto a shield. Climb the ladder directly underneath the shield and onto the balconies. If you want to find collectibles in the manor, turn left after climbing the ladder to find a letter.

Make your way to the other end of the balconies to find a new mechanism. Interact with the dial to unfold the wings of the great bat and light up the two fields in the lower section of the room with red light.

Return to the lower level. The next part of the puzzle requires you to move the two figures with shields onto the red fields on the floor, while removing the remaining figures from the way. The solution is shown below – the shields of the two knights will reflect the red light.

The White Queen will appear behind the ladder, between the two red spots (picture 1), but you cannot reach her immediately. To solve this, go back to the globe and change the coordinates to anything else in order to lift the ladder (picture 2).

Now, pull the White Queen towards the knights. If other figures are blocking the way, move them out of the way. The White Queen figure must stand in the middle of the two mirrors, as shown above.

With the puzzle solved, you can now use the passage unlocked behind where the White Queen first appeared. A cut-scene will commence, and the stage will end. You will return to controlling the present-day Lara in the Peruvian Jungle.
