Every time you interact with an oculara in Western Approach, you will be tasked with locating nearby shards. Here are some hints for finding them:
The first shard (M19,3a) is located on a ledge and is difficult to reach. To get it, find a ladder and use a mage to create a bridge to cross the gap.
The second shard (M19,3b) is also on a ledge. Find the location where a mage can create a bridge to reach the shard.
The third shard (M19,3c) is on some rocks. Find a ladder to reach it.
The fourth shard (M19,3d), along with the fifth and sixth, are located on a ledge in Echoback Canyon, which can only be accessed after completing the side quest “The Trouble with Darkspawn” and passing through Coracavus ruins.
The fifth shard (M19,3e) is on a distinctive hill in the canyon.
The sixth shard (M19,3f) is hidden on a balcony in Echoback Fort and can only be reached by ladder.
The seventh shard (M19,3g) is in a simple-to-find location north of Griffon Wing Keep.
The eighth shard (M19,3h) is on a balcony in Griffon Wing Keep. Use the ladder shown above to reach it.
The ninth shard (M19,3i) is in the southern part of the map on some rocks that you will have to climb.
The tenth shard (M19,3j) is also hidden in the southern part of the map on a big rock block.
The eleventh shard (M19,3k) is in the southwest part of the map near a Rift that must be closed. Climb the destroyed wall to reach it.
The twelfth shard (M19,3l) is in the central part of the map on rocks that you can climb or jump onto.
The thirteenth shard (M19,3m) is well hidden in the central part of the map. Start from the north, find the ladder shown above, and use it to reach a small wooden balcony. Climb on top of the rocks to find the shard.
The fourteenth shard (M19,3n) is in a visible location near the Western camp.
