Discover the Jamaican Plain Treasures (Jamaican Plain)

How to unlock: find a flyer inviting you to Jamaican Plain or navigate there independently (M9,1)

One of the flyers in Faneuil Hall

If you choose to visit Jamaican Plain by yourself, you can still accomplish this mission and earn experience points, albeit without the relevant entry in your diary. You can get the Flyer from several places, such as:

  • Faneuil Hall in Central Boston, where a piece of paper lies on the table at the entrance. Once you pick it up, the flyer falls to the ground.
  • After you find Hadrian’s body, which randomly appears in the game world,
  • After you loot Luke’s corpse in the Jamaican Plain church.

The corpse with the basement key

Once you arrive at the location, whether you have the flyer with you or not, you’ll see a ruined building at the end of the street, in the town center. There’s a corpse in front of it, on which you’ll find a key that will enable you to access the basement (though it’s a mere formality, since the wall around the door is damaged).

Luke’s corpse in the church (flyer, ID)

Prior to descending into the basement, go to the church situated east of the building where the “treasure” is. You can enter through the neighboring red house. On the bench at the church’s exit lies Luke’s corpse, on which there’s a flyer and an ID.

You can deactivate security systems using the ID from the church

Head to the treasure building’s basement. There, you’ll notice laser tripwires (ask your companion to remain still, or they’ll trigger the tripwires), with powerful turrets at the end of the corridor. You have three choices:

  • Use the door on the left (master lock),
  • Manually remove all of the sensors (this yields a lot of materials),
  • Use the ID you looted from the church on the reader in front of the corridor, which will disable the alarm.

The valuable baseball bat – unique weapon

In the next room, you’ll need to hack an easy terminal, which will open the “vault” door. Deactivating the defenses will activate two robots on both sides of the entrance, so it’s best to disable them beforehand or plant mines. After hitting the final button, a “vault” will open across the door. As a side note: apart from the baseball bat, there’s nothing valuable inside the “vault,” and the quest name “Treasures” is merely a ruse.

You can take the baseball bat to Diamond City’s merchant, Moe Cronin, who will reward you with caps (200-400).

Rewards for completing the quest: Experience points, a unique baseball bat.
