Substory #29 – The Bad Side of Town
Unlocking: To unlock this Substory, players need to travel to the western part of the district in Chapter 3 or later. When they reach the area near the Arms Dealer shop and the western stairs leading to the first floor of the main building, a group of bandits will stop them (as shown in the screenshot above).

Objective: This Substory involves only one battle against a group of bandits. Once players defeat them, the Substory is completed.
Substory #30 – Brawler for Hire
Unlocking: To unlock this Substory, players must reach at least Chapter 3 and complete Substory #7 (Rakunai district – Ee Ja Nai for Justice) first.
To start the Substory, players need to travel to the central part of the district where they fought Izo in Chapter 2. Once they reach the designated area, a cutscene will activate, and they’ll encounter Corrupt Official with warrior Sumi Bozu who appeared in Substory #7.

Objective: This Substory requires players to defeat Sumi Bozu for the first time, who can be treated as a mini-boss. Players will encounter him again during Substories #31 and #32.
Substory #31 – Brawler Incarnate
Unlocking: To unlock this Substory, players must complete Substory #30 first and reach Chapter 6. Once they complete these steps, they need to return to the location from Substory #30, where they’ll meet Sumi Bozu for the second time.

Objective: The objective of this Substory is to defeat Sumi Bozu for the second time, who has received new tattoos and is stronger than before.
Substory #32 – Brawler Enlightened
Unlocking: To unlock this Substory, players must complete Substories #30 and #31 first as described above. Once they reach Chapter 10, they need to return to the same location to encounter Sumi Bozu for the third and final time.

Objective: The objective of this Substory is to face Sumi Bozu for the last time, who has shaved his head and grown even stronger.
After defeating Sumi Bozu for the last time, players can find him near the stairs leading to Shinsengumi Barracks in Mibu. This is an excellent opportunity to recruit him and obtain a unique Trooper Card – Sumi Bozu.
Substory #33 – Ghost of a Fallen Warrior
Prerequisites: You must have reached Chapter 7 to access this substory. Head to the eastern part of the district, near the small shrine and Paradise, where two men are discussing a Warrior Ghost.

About the Substory: The warrior spirit appears only at night and must be defeated in battle.
If you emerge victorious, you will receive the Nishikigoi Amulet, a Gear element that increases the likelihood of encountering random enemies when equipped.
Substory #34 – The Beggar’s Bond
How to Trigger: You must have reached Chapter 3 and travel to the narrow street in the northwestern part of the district. Speak to the beggar there.

About the Substory: To trigger this substory, simply give the beggar any consumable item from your inventory. This starts the Bond with the Servile Beggar – to strengthen it further, continue to bring him food.
Substory #35 – The Trash Dealer’s Bond
