How to unlock
The Great Mushrooming quest is unlocked only after completing the first four missions in the game, namely Final Exam, Winged Bandit, A Joint Venture, and Good Money.
After this, several quests will appear on the map, and you need to approach each of them to add the quests to your journal.
Walkthrough
The Great Mushrooming quest appears as a question mark on the map, and when you get close enough, you’ll meet an Eccentric Man who will tell you about the mushrooming and the big prize in the contest.
After talking to the man, a new point on the map will appear, where you’ll find a chest that you can open using the key you received in the Good Money quest. Inside, you’ll find 50 gold coins.
You’ll then be given directions to the next location, where you’ll meet the organizer of the mushrooming competition, the mayor – Darach Dearg. He’ll explain the details and start the next part of the quest.
The quest lasts for 24 hours, during which mushrooms will appear on the map.
You can collect mushrooms by walking, sitting at home, or going on quests. They appear on the map like normal resources, and you can collect between 1 and 6 mushrooms at a time.
In some cases, clicking on mushrooms can lead to additional actions, such as finding a monster’s body or people. If you help them, they’ll tell you where to find more mushrooms. In such locations, enemies may appear, and after killing them, you can collect lots of mushrooms.
