12. THALMOR EMBASSY

Type of location: estate

Accessibility: You cannot visit the embassy until you have started the Diplomatic Immunity main quest.

Comments: Occupied by enemies, it is best to explore during the Diplomatic Immunity main quest. If you prefer to remain hidden during that quest, you may revisit the embassy later in the game.

13. BRINEWATER GROTTO

This is a cave that can be accessed at any time. However, it is currently being occupied by bandits and monsters. It is recommended to explore it while completing the Scoundrel’s Folly Thieves Guild quest.

14. SOLITUDE LIGHTHOUSE

This lighthouse can also be accessed at any time. It is best to explore it while completing the Lights Out! side quest.

15. DAINTY SLOAD

This location is a shipwreck that can be accessed at any time. However, it is currently being occupied by bandits. It is recommended to explore it while completing the Reputation: Solitude – Dainty Sload Thieves Guild quest.

16. RIMEROCK BURROW

Another accessible cave, but it is being occupied by a sorcerer. It is recommended to explore it while completing the A Daedra’s Best Friend daedric quest.

17. PINEFROST TOWER

This tower is being occupied by monsters and can be accessed at any time.

18. LOST ECHO CAVE

This cave is being occupied by falmers and can be accessed at any time.

19. VOLSKYGGE

This dungeon can be accessed at any time, but it is strongly recommended to wait until you have gained some levels and acquired good gear, as it is being occupied by powerful monsters. It is best to explore the dungeon while completing the Dragon Priests Masks side quest, as it is a lair for one of the priests (Volsung).

20. PINEMOON CAVE

This cave is being occupied by monsters, mostly vampires, and can be accessed at any time.

21. CLEARPINE POND

This pond is being occupied by spriggans and can be accessed at any time.

22. WOLFSKULL CAVE

This cave is being occupied by bandits and monsters. It is recommended to explore it while completing The Man Who Cried Wolf side quest.

23. STATUE TO MERIDIA

This location is an altar and a dungeon. You cannot visit the Kilkreath Ruins located underneath the statue until you have started The Break of Dawn daedric quest and delivered Meridia’s Beacon to the altar. The Kilkreath Ruins are being occupied by monsters.

You can start The Break of Dawn daedric quest by approaching Meridia’s statue.

24. SOLITUDE

Solitude is a city that can be accessed at any time. It is one of the biggest cities in Skyrim and you will visit this place many times while completing main and side quests. There are a lot of stores and other interesting places here, including Castle Dour, which is the main headquarters for the Imperial Legion.

25. KATARIAH

This location is a ship that can only be accessed when completing the Hail Sithis! Dark Brotherhood quest. The emperor’s ship will appear near the harbor and that’s when you’ll be allowed to board it for the first time.

The ship, both upper and lower decks, is being occupied by enemies. It is best to explore it while completing the Hail Sithis! Dark Brotherhood quest. It’s important to know that you won’t have to be in a hurry, as the ship won’t leave the harbor at any point in the game.
