Boethiah’s Calling – p. 1

Starting the Quest

You must be at least level 32 to complete this quest. If you have a well-developed character by then, you can start it right away.

There are two ways to start this quest. The first one is to find and read Boethiah’s Proving book. It can be found anywhere in the world or obtained by killing a Boethiah Cultist.

If you don’t want to wait, you can go straight to the Sacellum of Boethiah. It is located in the eastern part of Skyrim, in the mountains. If you haven’t discovered it yet, start from Windhelm.

Getting to the Sacellum might be difficult. Follow the path east of Windhelm, turn south after passing the Traitor’s Post.

You’ll see the Sacellum’s wall in the distance if you’re on the right path. If you haven’t started the quest yet, it will be added to your journal once you get close enough.

Meeting with the Priestess of Boethiah

New main objective: Find the cult of Boethiah

When you get to the cultist camp, the Priestess will stop you. Tell her that you want to take the test. She’ll tell you to bring a friendly person to the shrine and kill them as part of the ritual. She’ll give you the Blade of Sacrifice.

Making the Sacrifice

New main objective: Lead someone to become trapped by the shrine and slay them

You can sacrifice anyone as long as they follow you. Choose someone with little influence on the plot. Take them to the Sacellum and go up the stairs to the shrine.

Wait for your companion to reach you at the pillar. Speak to them and choose the second dialogue option from the top.

Approach the pillar and press E to make your companion approach it. They’ll be imprisoned.

Now you must murder your ally. You can use any weapon, not just the Blade of Sacrifice.

The new main objective is to talk to Boethiah’s Conduit. Boethiah will take possession of your murdered party member’s body, and you must explain to her why you sacrificed your friend and that you are not afraid of her. Boethiah will then address the gathered cultists, stating that the last person alive in the Sacellum will be the one given the honor of completing a mission for her.

The next objective is to slay the other cultists. At the beginning of the battle, it is best to stay in a safe location and wait until there are only two or three enemies left. The cultists will only take notice of you when there are a few of them remaining. Keep an eye out for the Priestess of Boethiah and cultists who can use powerful spells. Since you are alone due to killing your follower, be more mindful of your health.

After being the last one alive, speak to Boethiah again. She will ask you to slay her previous champion, who is with other bandits at Knifepoint Ridge. Boethiah will want you to complete the task silently, but you can still complete the quest by killing the champion and his sidekicks in a standard way.
