Steal a military Paria truck
To start this mission, you must first complete the Clear the Air mission in Madrugada. Then, revisit the local rebel camp, the Montero Farm, and meet with Carlos Montero to get the order to rescue Miguel from prison.
The first objective does not have a marker, as you can steal any of the trucks travelling through the Costa Del Mar region. Carlos will send you a photo of the Paria trucks’ appearance – look for the red truck crate to identify them.
Get into a car and travel down the main roads in the area. If you see a parked Paria truck, you can immediately try to steal it.
However, it’s more likely that you’ll encounter a moving truck.
To steal it, align your vehicle with the moving truck and wait for the Hijack icon to appear by pressing down the right analog stick. If the truck is accompanied by other enemy vehicles, try to lose them or shoot the enemies without initiating a big chase.
Deliver the Paria truck to Carlos
With the acquired truck, drive to the gas station indicated on the map. If the truck is badly damaged, consider using a repair tool to fix it.
Drive the truck into the large garage and watch the cutscene. Wait in the back compartment until you reach the prison.
Rescue Miguel from the prison
When you regain control, you will be in the former Gabriel Castillo Public School prison holding Miguel.
While not mandatory, it’s recommended to use stealth to free Miguel without setting off an alarm. Recon the area to locate alarms, security cameras, and potential enemies. Sneak along the borders of the prison to avoid most enemies, but note that you need a key to free Miguel from his cell.
Remember to stay hidden and avoid alerting enemies along the way.
To get the key for Miguel’s cell, head towards the main building of the prison. Look for an officer in one of the rooms and you’ll find the key on a table nearby. Once you have the key, go to the building shown in the picture. You won’t encounter any enemies near the cell, so use the key to unlock the cell with the red lock.
Next, escape with Miguel. You can’t stray too far from him, but he can defend himself. You don’t need to eliminate all enemies, but take care of the ones on your way to the main prison yard. Get into an empty jeep and wait for Miguel to join you. Drive through the main gate and crash it to destroy it. Keep driving until you reach the meeting spot with Carlos. A cutscene will show Miguel being welcomed into the rebel camp to finish the mission.
