Basic Information

Los Bandidos Operations are some of the bigger extra activities in the game. They are text-based missions where you must make various choices on the game board, each with a percentage chance of success.

You can initiate this operation by interacting with Los Bandidos boards. These boards are primarily located in the main guerilla hideouts, where the game switches to the TPP. Additionally, the boards can appear in small hideouts that can be unlocked while exploring the world. The particular board you choose is unimportant, as they all offer the same content.

When you initially interact with a Los Bandidos board, you will only be able to select one operation. However, as you progress through the game, this number will increase. Eventually, you will have up to 8 operations to choose from.

Initially, you will only be able to handle one operation at a time. However, new leaders can be unlocked as you progress through the campaign (more on them later in the text). This will enable you to undertake several different operations simultaneously.

Starting an Operation

Each operation has two requirements:

  1. Sufficient number of free leaders – the operation in the example from the picture requires 1 leader.
  2. Sufficient number of free recruits – the operation in the example from the picture requires 10 recruits.

The current number of leaders and recruits can be seen on the left side of the screen.

Other important information about the operations includes:

1) Time until it starts – This can range from 1 minute to several hours. The timer begins when the leader(s) and recruits are assigned to the operation. Once the set time has elapsed, a message will appear on the screen. The countdown occurs in real-time – the game does not have to be running all the time. For instance, you can set up an operation with an 8-hour preparation period, turn off your computer or console, and then return to the game the next day.

2) Suggested leader abilities – Attempt to select leaders based on the operations. This may increase your chances of success or reduce the consumption of certain raw materials during the operation.

3) Primary reward – You can earn new recruits, resources, Pesos, cosmetic items, or weapons. The type of reward can be a critical factor when reviewing the available operations.

4) Time remaining until mission expiration – If you don’t start the operation before the time runs out, it will be automatically replaced by another one. This is beneficial if you can’t meet the current operation’s requirements or if the rewards are uninteresting.

Additional tip – It’s recommended to make it a habit to return to any Los Bandidos board before shutting off the game and after starting it. This lowers the risk of forgetting to start a new operation or complete one that’s already running.

Leaders and Recruits – How to Obtain More?

Acquiring new leaders is a slow process – don’t be discouraged if you’re forced to use only the “starter” leader for a long time.

New leaders are automatically obtained as rewards for completing main and side quests – an example of this type of quest is shown in the picture.

Unlike recruits, these leaders will stay with you forever as they cannot die.

New recruits are comparatively easier to obtain. Look for opportunities to help characters you meet and free imprisoned guerrillas. Each such action will reward you with several new recruits.

You may also get recruits for:

  1. Completing selected Los Bandidos operations
  2. Destroying propaganda posters and billboards.

Keep looking for opportunities to add new characters, as recruits may die in operations. That’s why fresh blood will always be useful.

Playing Operations

After enough time has passed from the start of the operation, you can return to a Los Bandidos board and complete its main part. Here’s some important information on the topic:

  1. The operation is divided into 3 parts, and to complete it and earn the main reward, you must finish all 3 steps. Failing any of them will end the operation.
  2. Each part of the operation requires you to choose from 3 dialog options. The game may limit the number of options if you don’t meet the requirements for a given variant. For example, you might not have the required raw materials to “pay” for a specific action.
  3. Each option has a percentage chance of success. It also informs you of potential smaller rewards and risks (e.g. losing up to 5 recruits). When you hover over the button for a particular action, you’ll see what factors influence the percentage chance of success. For example, your chance can be increased if you’ve selected a leader with a “matching” skill for the operation.

If you successfully complete all 3 steps, you’ll earn the final reward for the operation and all the smaller rewards from the previous parts.

Successfully completing 5 different operations will reward you with the Alpha Guerrilla bronze trophy.

If you’re doing poorly or want to limit the losses when choosing a specific option, you can end an operation prematurely by selecting withdraw. This is advisable if you mess up the first or second choice – the whole operation will end in failure, and you’ll lose the chance of winning the main reward anyway.

Advanced Tips for Successfully Completing Operations

If you want to improve your chances of winning Los Bandidos operations, here are some advanced hints to keep in mind:

  1. Don’t always go for the option with the highest success rate as it may not offer the best reward. It’s worth taking a risk if the chance of success is 80% or higher and the reward is better.
  2. Some variants offer an increase in the chances of success for the next part of the operation by up to 10%. This is a great option for difficult missions with low default success rates (e.g. 60%).
  3. Consider the cost of each choice as you may have to spend a lot of Pesos or sacrifice rare resources. The reward for completing an operation may not be worth the cost.
  4. It’s important to recruit a large group of people. Even if some of them die during an operation, they can easily be replaced with new recruits.
