LEGO Skywalker Saga: Ground A-salt – walkthrough

This section of the LEGO Skywalker Saga guide provides a step-by-step walkthrough for the Salt in Kylo’s Eye level from Episode 8. The guide includes instructions for getting out of the caves, facing off against Luke and Kylo Ren, and escaping the caves as Finn, Poe, BB-8, and the other heroes.

Crait Danger

As the battle rages on in Crait Outpost, make your way towards the marked blue circle to continue the mission.

Your next objective is to send a SOS signal. Head towards the large container and choose a character who can use the interactive hooks to enter.

Inside, you’ll find a device that needs to be pushed towards the orange rectangle on the floor. This will allow you to use the console and complete a minigame.

Your next task is to help BB-8 reach the upper part of the outpost, as the droid cannot use ladders. Look for scaffolding in the area (as shown in screenshot 1), use the grappling hook to grab it, destroy it, and build a springboard. BB-8 can jump on it and reach the upper level (screenshot 2). From there, you can access the blue terminal as BB-8.

Poe Dameron will appear in the distance, and finding your way to him may prove challenging. Once you’ve completed all tasks involving the blue terminal, climb up the area shown in screenshot 1 to reach the upper path. Follow the corridors until you reach the blue circle shown in picture 2, where the new mission (Ground A-Salt) begins.

Ground A-salt – challenges

This level includes three challenges:

1. I Can Dig It! – Fight your way through the crystal caves and choose the left path to build a Boxing Glove Drill (screenshot 1). Unlock the challenge by breaking through the crystal tunnel (screenshot 2).

1. Knock-Knock! – Activate the MSE droid to destroy the emergency exit. Follow the right path, reach the second area on the right, unlock the ladder on the left, and use the orange terminal shown in picture 1. Lower the MSE droid shown in picture 2, attach to the hook at its back, and unlock the path.

1. Tight Squeeze – Discover the shortcut through the protocol terminal. Unlock this challenge in Free Play mode using a protocol droid (e.g. C-3PO). Take the right path through the caves, use the first stairs on the left, and find the protocol terminal from the screenshot above. Assume control over a protocol droid and interact with it.

1. Switch to a different droid and complete two actions. First, activate the green terminal (picture 1) and retrieve Crait Service Tunnel Doors password. Once you get the password, move to the nearby red terminal that has a padlock on it (picture 2). Choose the right password from the list and unlock the way forward for the rest of the heroes.

Walkthrough – Luke Skywalker and Kylo Ren

In this situation, the group is divided into two teams with different tasks. By default, the game switches to Luke, but you can press the team change button and complete the journey through the caves first.

Remember, this isn’t the final battle with Kylo Ren. Instead, a QTE awaits you – quickly press the buttons appearing on the screen to avoid Ren’s attacks and drain his blue energy bar.

After Kylo Ren is weakened, the battle will end. You can then progress with the other team.

Walkthrough – Finn, Poe and BB-8

Follow the path laid out by the cave to reach a fork in the road – both paths have different completed activities.

If you take the left path, you can build a machine that will help you get through the crystal tunnels. Destroy the objects around you and bouncing blocks will appear. You have two options for the project: Mining Drill or Boxing Glove Drill (if you want a challenge, choose the Boxing Glove). The drill must be pushed and attached to the drilling machine.

Near one of the walls, there is an object (screenshot 1). Stand on the button marked in the screenshot to activate a small machine that can be mounted. Deliver the new machine to the slot shown in picture 2.

Now you can board the drilling machine. Unfortunately, you don’t have full control over it. Just keep pressing up and it will destroy the obstacles in the way and dig out a tunnel. You’ll reach the end of the left path.

The path on the right leads to a collapsed tunnel. Use the stairs on the left to find an orange terminal. Completing the mini-game will unlock a stash with explosives. Push the explosives (picture 1) and drop them down. Jump down, build explosives, and pull the lever shown in picture 2 to cause an explosion that will unlock the path forward.

A new path will open in the new area. The first option is to grab the hook from picture 1, which will allow you to use the ladder. At the top, you’ll find an orange terminal with a mini-game. Once you’re successful, the container with the MSE droid will be lowered. Go downstairs and grab the hook shown in picture 2. The droid will be set in motion and will break through the passage (one of the challenges will be completed this way).

The second option involves examining the lower area and grabbing the hook on the right presented in picture 1. Construct a blue terminal for BB-8 here and use it. Completing the mini-game with rings will allow you to build the missing fragment of the gate. Grab it (picture 2) and then use the handle to open the gate.

All paths converge in the same place at the end of the caves. You won’t be able to get rid of the boulders until you’ve completed Luke’s scene. After completing the duel sequence, you’ll receive the ability to control Ray and use her to clear the boulders using Force (screenshot 2). The unlocked exit from the caves means that the mission is completed.
