Glory of the Dead – p. 1

New main objective: Attend Kodlak’s funeral

The funeral of Kodlak Whitemane will take place at the Skyforge, which is located in Eorlund’s place of work. You must go there now (as shown in the screenshot above). Once you arrive, the ceremony will begin. After it ends, Eorlund will ask you to give him the fragments of Wuuthrad and find the last piece of this ancient weapon, which is kept in Kodlak’s chamber.

New main objective: Retrieve Kodlak’s fragment

Enter the Jorrvaskr sanctuary and take the stairs that lead to the living quarters in Jorrvaskr. Head north and after a while, you will reach Kodlak’s chamber. While there, look for the Song of Hrormir, a Two-Handed skill book. The fragment of the weapon you are seeking can be found on the table next to the large bed (as shown in the screenshot above).

New main objective: Give the final fragment to Eorlund

Return to the Skyforge, where the funeral was held, and give Eorlund the last fragment of the weapon you just found. He will then send you to the Underforge, where the Companions are waiting for you.

New main objective: Meet the Circle

Descend and use the entrance to the Underforge (as shown in the screenshot above). Once you arrive, listen to the conversation of the Companions, which concerns Kodlak’s last will to ensure his soul is able to go to Sovngarde. The solution to this problem may be to explore the Tomb of Ysgramor. After a while, Eorlund will appear with the ancient weapon needed to open the tomb, and give you Wuuthrad.

New main objective: Go to Ysgramor’s Tomb with the Circle

If you play as a warrior who prefers two-handed weapons, select Wuuthrad as your active weapon. Leave the forge, open the world map and locate the Tomb of Ysgramor (as shown in the screenshot above). This place is located in the northern part of the map and I suggest starting your journey near Winterhold. You do not need to walk there, just choose the fast travel option and meet the Companions in the tomb. Do not forget to take a team member with you, as none of the Companions will be your shield-brother in this quest.

After reaching Winterhold, head northwest, being careful while walking or sliding down. Then, I suggest approaching the tomb from the south or southwest. Be very cautious, as you may encounter wolves, bears, or other wild creatures or monsters in this area. Once you arrive at your destination (as shown in the screenshot above), jump inside the large hole and open the door leading inside Ysgramor’s Tomb.

The game should automatically start a conversation with Vilkas (as shown in the screenshot above), who will warn you of the dangers that await you in the tomb and tell you that he will not participate in your further actions. The shield-brother will also inform you that in order to open the tomb, you need to use the newly acquired Wuuthard weapon.

The new main goal is to bring Wuuthrad back to Ysgramor. Head towards the Ysgramor statue situated in the main area of the chamber and press the E key to place Wuuthrad in its hands (as shown in the picture above). This will reveal a previously hidden passage. The good news is that you don’t have to part with the weapon permanently, as you can retrieve it later – the passage will remain open.
