  • Interview the guards (Reinhold’s quest – Nightly Business)
  • Completing the quest

Unlocking the quest

Judicator Reinhold, the leader of the Clerics, will give you a quest to identify the person who sells Elex illegally. Reinhold offers the first few clues that are related to three suspects.

Dietrich in the administration building can also provide more information about the case. He suggests checking out a Clerics camp and searching for the Elex supplier. You will receive Dietrich’s Search Warrant.

Identifying the supplier (Dietrich’s quest – The Supplier)

You must visit Castle Ruins of West Ignadon, located far south-west from The Hort. On the way, be cautious of strong enemies (e.g. Skex) and choose an entrance to the castle that is not guarded by strong monsters. There, you must question three members of the Clerics.

Gerd guards one of the entrances to the castle. Use 5 Combat points to gain 25XP and 6 Plasma Cell. Show him the search warrant and listen to what he has to say.

Dirk is on a floor of the main building in the ruins. Show him the search warrant and he will give you a code (4979) to his safe. Find it in the side room (the picture) and check its content. You won’t find anything suspicious.

Karsten walks around the castle. Show him the search warrant and receive Karsten’s Security Code with a code (8195) to his safe. Find it in the camp (the picture) and take Bundle of Outlaw Clothing (100XP). Take the clothes to Karsten and present your charges to him. You can act in two ways:

  1. You can cooperate with Karsten. To start your cooperation in trading Elex, you receive 200XP and 75 Elexit.
  2. Try to drive Karsten off. He will attack the main hero. You must defeat him in a one-on-one fight (325XP).

Regardless of your choice, return to Dietrich in The Hort. Tell him about Karsten’s death and that you have stopped Elex trade or lie to him and say that you got rid of a nameless supplier and show him the Outlaw’s clothes from the safe as evidence. You receive 500XP and 50 Elexit.

Interview the guards (Reinhold’s quest – Nightly Business)

Xander may order the hero to say that Siegfried is the Elex trader

During this quest, you must meet with three guards in The Hort:

  1. You can obtain Surveillance Report 1 from Pit Guard.
  2. Factory Guard will give you Surveillance Report 2.
  3. Surveillance Report 3 is with Xander. If you had previously asked him to let the hero in, he can now ask you to do him a favor and falsely accuse Siegfried of illegal trade (200XP). If you don’t owe him anything, you can fulfill his request voluntarily.

How to Complete the Quest

You can complete the quest by blindly choosing the culprit, but it is recommended to go back to Reinhold in the Cathedral once you have completed all the necessary steps described above. You will need to choose the Elex trader from a list of three suspects: Hagen, Siegfried, and Oswald. If you want to appeal to Xander, choose Siegfried (who is innocent). If you wish to accuse the true trader, choose Oswald. Regardless of your choice, Reinhold will believe you and you will receive 500XP. After your chosen candidate is checked, you may speak with Reinhold again later in the game. If you have pointed to the wrong person, Reinhold will be angry. If you have pointed to Oswald, the true culprit, you will receive an additional 400 Elexit.

Warning – If you owe Xander a favor and you do not choose Siegfried, the guard will seek revenge. Traders from The Hort will stop offering their goods to the hero. You can solve this problem in two ways – pay Xander 400 Elexit or use a dialog option that requires 6 Charisma points. Regardless of your choice, you will receive 400XP and traders will be able to offer their goods to Jax again.

Notes – You can receive an additional reward for finishing the quest and correctly guessing the trader – 3000XP and 500 Elexit. You will receive this automatically if you join the faction of the Clerks. If you have chosen one of the two factions, visit Reinhold to receive your reward.
