Basic Information

The world of Skyrim is inhabited by many traders. Some offer various types of goods, while others specialize in certain items such as weapons or magical books and scrolls. You can buy items from traders and sell unwanted items you have collected or received during your expeditions. However, it is important to note that most traders are only interested in the types of items they offer. For example, you cannot sell a weapon to a shopkeeper that specializes in alchemy ingredients. Fortunately, this problem can be resolved by unlocking the Merchant perk from the Speech category. Make sure to explore the entire skill tree mentioned above, as it has other perks that may come in handy while trading. A perk that unlocks the possibility of selling stolen items is an example of what you can expect if you invest in developing Speech.

One crucial thing to consider when trading is the amount of gold a merchant currently has. You can determine their wealth by looking at the value displayed in the bottom right corner of the screen. This means you cannot sell all your items to a single trader, as they may not have enough money to buy everything. However, there are ways to improve this process. Firstly, you can buy something from the merchant you’re selling items to so that they become richer. Secondly, you can unlock perks from the Speech skill tree that increase the amount of gold traders have. Alternatively, you can wait a few days after finalizing a transaction until a trader you’ve had contact with receives new gold.

List of Traders

Note: To understand the numbers in the third column, consult the World Maps chapter of this guide. For example, (3; 05) means you must look at the map of sector 3 and find a location marked with 5.

FAQ

What are Traders and Listings?

Traders are individuals or companies who buy and sell goods or securities in financial markets. Listings refer to the process of listing a company’s shares on a stock exchange, allowing them to be publicly traded.

How do Traders make money?

Traders make money by buying low and selling high. They analyze market trends and use various strategies to make informed decisions about when to buy and sell assets. Some traders may also earn profits through short selling, where they sell assets they don’t own, hoping to buy them back at a lower price to make a profit.

Why do companies want to be listed on a stock exchange?

Companies may want to be listed on a stock exchange to raise capital by selling shares to the public. It also provides them with greater visibility and credibility in the market, which can attract more investors and increase their liquidity. Being publicly traded also allows companies to use their shares as currency for acquisitions or mergers.

What risks do Traders face?

Traders face various risks, such as market volatility, liquidity risks, and operational risks. Market volatility refers to sudden and unexpected fluctuations in asset prices, which can result in significant losses. Liquidity risks arise when there isn’t enough trading volume in a particular asset, making it difficult to buy or sell. Operational risks include errors in trading systems, cyber attacks, and other unforeseen events that can disrupt trading activities.
