Scrap for Scraps

After completing the first story mission of Episode 7, you will play as Rey and receive a task to find 20 pieces of scrap metal. Head towards the wreckage of the Star Destroyer. You can reach your destination by using a vehicle or walking (which takes longer). Find the entrance to the wreck, which is marked on the map.

There are 20 objects to collect in the area, and their locations are marked on the mini-map. You can collect some scrap metal without meeting any additional requirements. Some shelves may have BB-8 icons, indicating places where the droid’s ability to pull itself can be used.

However, gadgets are necessary to collect some items. Rey represents the Collector class. Find the terminal to unlock the schematic, as shown in the picture above.

You will be able to complete the gadget crafting tutorial. Each time you have to hold down Circle/B and select a gadget from the list. You don’t need any materials to craft a given object, and you can create it in unlimited quantities. Only one gadget can be active at a time.

The first gadget you create will be the Net Launcher. You can use it on walls with X-shaped hooks. After setting up the net on a vertical wall like this one, Rey will be able to climb up. It is worth noting that you can place several nets next to each other to reach the top shelves.

After using the Net Launcher for the first time, you will reach a ledge where, apart from scrap metal, you will find the second terminal. Use it to unlock the Glider, which helps you glide by holding down the jump button while in flight. Test it by gliding to the adjacent ledge.

Push the crate off the ledge you landed on, jump down, and start building with bricks. Build a ramp and use it to reach a new balcony. A blue terminal in the area must be used by BB-8. Complete a mini-game by rotating different rings and matching them.

Move smoothly to the next platform where you will come across the final terminal. Activating it will enable you to unlock the Breaker Blaster. With this gadget, you can break all the objects that have cracks – a cracked wall is present right next to you.

As soon as you have all the gadgets, start using them (along with BB-8’s pull) to reach the remaining scraps in the area. The circles on the mini-map will simplify your search for the missing items.

Once you collect 20 pieces of scrap, leave the wreckage and head towards Unkar Plutt’s shop at Niima Outpost. The blue circle marks the destination.

You will be deceived and have to combat Unkar’s mercenaries. They are not a significant threat. After the fight, go to the next blue circle to talk to Finn.

Outpost Antics

The new mission objective is to escape the First Order forces. Do not try to defeat all the enemies in the area because new ones will take their place.

Reach the shipyard and start building. Construct a blue terminal and operate it as BB-8.

After watching the new cut-scene, head towards the passage where the gate used to be. The ship on the left will get destroyed when you interact with it. Instead, board the “junk” – the ship on the right. You will advance to the Low Flying Garbage level.

Low Flying Garbage – challenges

This level has three challenges:

  1. Getting Pretty Good at This – You have to destroy 3 TIE Fighters in 5 seconds. You should be able to complete this challenge without problems. Wait for a battle to start – keep firing and quickly target the next fighters.
  2. How Low Can You Go? – You have to lose or defeat the enemy by flying through the debris in the Ship Graveyard. An example of the remains is shown in the picture. There are a lot of them in the area. In addition to completing the challenge, you can also get studs or even a minikit.
  3. Not So Easy Without a Co-Pilot! – You have to avoid enemies’ targeting missiles or rockets.

Low Flying Garbage – walkthrough

This stage takes place entirely in the air. The most important tip is to avoid flying at high altitude. Your ship can then be targeted, but this won’t fail the mission automatically – you can barrel-roll to break the targeting and avoid being hit (L1 R1 or LB RB on the controller).

In the first part of the mission, you have to destroy 3 groups of TIE Fighters, which consist of 7, 10 and 12 ships respectively. Enemy fighters should explode after a few shots, so you don’t have to be afraid of their numerical advantage.

After shooting down all the fighters, you will have to use a torpedo on the wreckage of the Star Destroyer. Follow the markers to obtain a torpedo and then fly towards the wreckage. You have to wait until the tracking process is over – then launch the torpedo.

The mission requires you to eliminate the following TIE Fighters after crashing into the wreckage. The sequence of flying through the wreckage marks the final scene of this mission, and a cut-scene will commence shortly to conclude the level.
