Reconnaissance
In Far Cry 6, the smartphone replaces the binoculars and is crucial for reconnaissance. Pressing up on the D-Pad allows you to use the phone for recon. You can zoom in to spot distant objects and objectives.
It is important to do some recon before entering a large hostile area, as it will help you plan your steps and identify areas and characters worthy of attention. Try to do recon from an elevated place, such as a hill, tower, or rooftop, where you can see most of the hostile area. During recon, you should do the following:
- Tag enemies – focus on officers, as they may have access cards to locked rooms.
- Tag machines – vacant machines can be stolen, especially tanks or helicopters. If you alert the enemies, they may use the vehicles against you.
