Basic information

Working with skill trainers is an effective way to develop your character’s abilities. One of the biggest advantages of this approach is that you don’t have to spend a lot of time searching for new items like you would with skill books. Instead, you can return to the same trainer repeatedly. It’s worth noting that completing lessons and increasing skills contributes to your character’s overall progress, allowing you to advance to higher experience levels more quickly. However, there are also some drawbacks to working with trainers. First and foremost, it can be expensive. Each lesson typically costs several hundred gold coins, so you’ll need to have enough money to use their services regularly. Additionally, you can only take up to five lessons per experience level, whether with the same trainer or different ones. However, this limit resets when you advance to a new experience level, allowing you to take another set of five lessons.

Each trainer specializes in a particular area, and you can request training by selecting the appropriate dialogue option. Trainers fall into three groups: adept trainers can help you develop skills up to 50 points, expert trainers can help you develop skills up to 75 points, and master trainers can help you develop skills up to 90 points. Note that some trainers can only be accessed if you belong to a certain organization, such as the Dark Brotherhood.

If a trainer dies, they cannot be replaced. Therefore, it’s important to be mindful of their safety, especially if they can also serve as your follower (Companions members can join you). It’s worth noting that even if a trainer is your follower, you can still request lessons from them without having to send them away (although you still have to pay for the lessons).

List of trainers

Important – Be sure to consult the World Maps section of this guide for help locating the trainers (you’ll need to find the correct map and sector number). It’s best to buy lessons during the day, as some trainers may sleep at night.

FAQ

1. What are skill trainers?

Skill trainers are NPCs (non-player characters) in video games that teach players new abilities, techniques, or skills. These trainers are usually found in specific locations within the game and offer their services for a fee. Players can visit skill trainers to learn new moves or improve their existing ones, helping them to progress further in the game. Skill trainers can be found in a variety of games, from classic RPGs to modern action games.

2. How do I find a skill trainer?

The location of skill trainers can vary from game to game, but they are usually marked on the game’s map or can be found through in-game dialogue. Some games require players to complete certain quests or reach a certain level before they can access certain trainers. It’s important to note that not all trainers offer the same skills or abilities, so players may need to visit several trainers to learn all the moves they need.

3. How much does it cost to learn a new skill?

The cost of learning a new skill from a trainer can vary depending on the game and the specific skill being taught. Some trainers may offer discounts for certain factions or races, while others may charge a flat fee for each new skill. In some games, the cost of learning a new skill can increase as the player’s level increases, making it more expensive to learn new abilities later in the game.

4. Can I learn skills without visiting a trainer?

In some games, it is possible to learn new skills without visiting a trainer. This can be done through leveling up or by finding and using special items or equipment. However, visiting a skill trainer can often provide players with more advanced or powerful moves that can help them in the later stages of the game.

5. Are skill trainers necessary to complete the game?

No, skill trainers are not necessary to complete most games. However, learning new skills from trainers can make the game easier or more enjoyable, as players will have access to more powerful moves and techniques. Additionally, visiting skill trainers can provide players with valuable information about the game’s lore and story, as trainers are often characters with unique personalities and backgrounds.
