New main goal: Speak with Muiri

Since Alain Dufont is dead, we can now proceed to assassinate Nilsine Shatter-Shield. Exit the Raldbthar dwarven ruins, open the world map, and travel to Windhelm (as shown in the screenshot above).

It is best to eliminate Nilsine during the night when the streets of Windhelm are deserted. Nilsine can be found in the western part of the town (as shown in the screenshot above). To avoid trouble with guards, kill her from hiding, stabbing her with a dagger, or using a bow with an arrow poisoned with Lotus Extract.

Alternatively, you can kill Nilsine while she is asleep, but this involves a significant obstacle. Go to the western part of the town and locate Shatter-Shield Manor (as shown in the screenshot above). When you try to enter the building, you will discover that it has a very advanced lock, so your character must have highly developed thieving skills or be willing to use a few lock-picks.

If you have managed to open the clan’s door, then crouch and move carefully north, finding the stairs leading to the upper floor. Locate Nilsine’s bedroom and approach her slowly (as shown in the screenshot above). Depending on your preferences, you can kill Nilsine by stabbing her with a dagger or shooting her in the head with an arrow. After the successful action, exit the manor carefully.

You can now leave Windhelm and return to Markarth. As before, you may take a few moments to locate Muiri. Initiate a conversation with her and inform her about eliminating both targets (as shown in the screenshot above). The woman will reward you with gold and a very valuable Muiri’s Ring.

New main goal: Report back to Astrid

Leave Markarth and travel to the Dark Brotherhood’s Sanctuary. Once inside the hideout, look for Astrid (who should be in the first chamber) and speak to her (as shown in the screenshot above). The assassin will have an unusual request for you. She will persuade you to hide inside the Night Mother’s coffin to eavesdrop on Cicero and his conversations.
